Practice Area 01 · Investment Readiness

From structural gap to institutional engagement.

TerraBridge operates as an independent, fee-based development partner. We assess, design, and implement the financial, governance, ESG, and delivery systems that institutional capital providers require — with no stake in funding outcomes and no intermediary role in capital transactions. That independence is what makes our readiness assessments credible to the DFIs, funds, and lenders who rely on them to make deployment decisions.

Engagements are structured through the BRIDGE Program — our proprietary five-stage readiness methodology — or delivered as targeted mandates where financing is already in place or a specific institutional requirement must be addressed.

TerraBridge does not replace the due diligence process of DFIs, funds, or lenders. Our role is to ensure that when institutional capital providers engage with an initiative, the documentation, systems, and evidence they need are already in place, coherent, and defensible. We make their work easier, their decisions faster, and their deployment more confident.

Practice Area 02 · E&S Monitoring & Biodiversity Advisory

Field-level environmental intelligence. Institutionally documented.

Environmental and social monitoring is only as useful as the rigour behind it and the institutional legibility of its outputs. TerraBridge delivers GIS-based monitoring and biodiversity advisory that meets the documentation and reporting standards DFIs require — combining remote sensing and spatial analysis with field verification capacity and a specialist biodiversity partnership covering the full IFC PS6 scope.

GIS and Environmental and Social Monitoring

We provide structured environmental and social monitoring for projects and portfolios in climate-sensitive and ecologically complex landscapes — combining satellite-based remote sensing with field verification and institutionally structured reporting. Monitoring programmes are designed against applicable IFC Performance Standards, with scope calibrated to project context, lender requirements, and portfolio-level reporting needs.

Biodiversity and IFC PS6

IFC Performance Standard 6 is one of the most technically demanding requirements in land-use and forestry finance. It is also one of the most frequently misrepresented. Many firms claim PS6 capability. Few have classified natural habitats in the field, worked through the mitigation hierarchy under real project constraints, or designed a no net loss framework that a DFI biodiversity specialist will accept.

TerraBridge has done this work — in active projects, in the field, in ecologically complex landscapes. Our PS6 practice is grounded in direct field experience across habitat identification, biodiversity value assessment, natural and critical habitat classification, and the design of offset and no net loss frameworks that hold up under institutional scrutiny. We deliver this work in technical partnership with an accredited biodiversity specialist with a long track record in HCV assessment and PS6 compliance across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The technical process we apply is rigorous and sequential. Habitat classification begins with field assessment of biodiversity values within the project footprint and its wider landscape context — not desktop proxies or satellite approximation alone. Modified, natural, and critical habitat determinations are made against documented evidence. Where natural habitats are identified, biodiversity values are assessed across a low, medium, and high gradient — because that gradient determines what can be cleared, what must be offset, and what the offset design must achieve. No net loss and net positive gain frameworks are then built from that foundation, with plantation design and operational layout structured to demonstrate biodiversity gain over time. This process defines what is protected, what is enhanced, and what is regenerated for production — establishing the conditions under which a commercial plantation can function as a balanced ecosystem, one in which biodiversity values are not sacrificed for productivity but integrated into the operational design from the outset.
